Gatecrashers, Chapter one
One could learn a lot of things on Myspace. You could learn about internet stalkers, emos, rich men living in Kuwait and a multitude of other things.
On AngelGirl101's profile, you could learn that she lived in Beverly Hills, was somehow connected to the Jonas Brothers, had a chocolate weakness, loved Abercrombie and Fitch and Aeropostale, and had a host of friends. Her profile was decorated in purple- her favorite color- and adorned with little yellow stars on the edges. 'SOS' was on her playlist. AngelGirl101 had 3,782 friends, the majority of which lived in California, although she didn't know most of them.
AngelGirl101 was logged on. Sapphire Moonstone clicked away at the keyboard as she went to her friends list and sent out a massive bulletin advertising her party to anyone in Southern California who wanted to see the Jonas- free of charge. The date, next Friday. The location? Her house.
She didn't know there was a serial killer on her friends list.

Backtracking would be nice.
There was only one cool way to throw a party around here.
Pretty, perfect, popular and rich were the best ways to describe Sapphire Moonstone. Platinum blonde, tall, blue-eyed and California skin, the fifteen year old looked just like Barbie, and was about as accomplished. She lived in a huge mansion in Beverly Hills, and for the most part, she wasn't spoiled, although she wasn't really generous either.
The secret to her fortune was her fathers job- working for the Jonas Brothers. It was an unusual profession, but it granted the one-child family instant popularity. Of course, because of this, her father was never home, but Sapphire didn't really care.
All she cared about right now was having the best sweet sixteen- one that would surely send her older friends who had already had one into a fit of envy. Of course, they already envied her- she just wanted them to do it more.
Sapphire had many friends, some of whom she had forgotten. Among those were sweet, logical girl Cassandra Charm, who didn't really fit into Sapphires preppy lifestyle. Regardless, Sapphire had been friends with the girl since third grade, and she didn't want to let that die.
Then there was Ophelia Crobe, a girl so far gone she was completely outside the social food chain. Despite the many times the she could have ruined Sapphires reputation, she still kept the easily insane teen as a friend, though she wasn't sure why.
The friends she did allow to be known to associate with her in public were much different then Cassie and Ophie. Her clique of preps terrorized the lower classmen at Washington High School. Of these, there was Kray McGuire, easily the most intimidating girl in school. She wasn't a broad shouldered, leather wearing bully, but her presence- very tall, with thin black hair that fell down almost to her waist, and her almost gothic clothes tended to frighten people. A rumor had spread that Kray knew Kung Fu, and as such was Sapphires protector, further insuring that no one messed with Sapphire Moonstone.
Kray had another friend, an even creepier goth girl named Autumn Rush, although she went by Rush most of the time. Rush had short black hair and a nose ring- not a cowbell, or whatever they were called these days, but a side nose ring. This one had a sorority group of girls who were mostly avoided. There was a rumor they had summoned Bloody Mary several times.
But out of Sapphires closest group of preppie friends, there was Mackie; the talker, Audrey; the designer, Pamela; the actress, Toby; the hot football player, Nick; the actor, Saria; the romantic, and Anya; the bitch-slapper.
Sapphire's life was perfect. But to her, it wasn't perfect enough. She needed the best sweet sixteen.
And she knew how to do it.
The Jonas Brothers.

Their kitchen was like a dining hall.
With slick, polished wood floors and a long table set with a burgundy cloth and tall candles, this part of the house was more like palace. The countertops were made of marble and the sink nozzle was more like a fountain. An older, fashionable woman with cropped blonde hair and hazel eyes was cooking something on the stove.
"Mmm, that smells good," Sapphire complimented, trotting into the room. She threw her luscious hair back, "You look gorgeous today, mom,"
"Thanks, dear," the woman said, stirring the large boiling bowl of spaghetti. She had a thin, faux fur leopard print top on, sleeveless, and covering up a white sleeved shirt that complimented it greatly. Topping it off was a black skirt that made you think Ms. Moonstone was about to go partying, and not cooking.
Suddenly, her eyes narrowed.
"What do you want?" she asked her daughter suspiciously.
Sapphire prepared for her dramatic moment.
She fell back against the marble nearby the stove, hand over her forehead. "I'm so jealous of all my friends' sweet sixteens…"
The mom sighed. Oh boy, she thought, knowing where this was going. "How could you be jealous? They did Cassies at Chuckie Cheeses and Ophelias at that synagogue… the rabbi still kind of scares me…"
"Yeah, but Cassie has a beachhouse in Hawaii or something, and they're doing her seventeenth there," the girl pointed out, standing up. "Besides, I mean my other friends. Audrey had hers at that fashion show and Toby had his on MTV,"
Mom groaned, "I'm not doing your party on MTV,"
"You don't have to," the blonde said. "I just want the Jonas to come,"
Her mother started laughing so hard that her ladle fell into the boiling pot and started to sizzle, she, however, didn't notice.
"Honey, aren't you a bit old for the Jonas Brothers?" she said, amid giggles.
"Mom, dad works for them. He can get them to show up. And besides, everyone at Washington loves them. Insta-popularity," she added, snapping her fingers.
"Aren't you already popular?" Ms. Moonstone asked. Sapphire didn't respond, and so she continued, "Besides, you're not answering the question. You liked the Jonas when you were twelve, dear,"
"Mom, they're not a kiddie band! You of all people should know that!" the Hollister wearing girl yelled. But she knew mother didn't approve of her dads job, no matter how much money it generated.
"Whatever. Can they come?" she begged, after her mom didn't reply.
"Ask your father, dear, he'd have to arrange it,"
"He's in Sacramento!"
"Then call him!" mother yelled as she tried to get the ladle out of the bowl with a pair of pliers. Sapphire groaned. "Fine. I will,"

"Hello?"
"Sorry, this number is now out of service. Please try again," the annoying sound of an operator rang around Sapphires room as she tried her dads number. He tended to change it often, which greatly annoyed the family. She dialed again. "Dad?"
"Out of service," her father taunted from the other end of the line. His daughter laughed.
"Dad, stop messing with me!" she giggled. "How are you?"
"What'd you want?" he asked suddenly, knowing she only ever called for stuff.
"Ugh, you're just like mom. Hey, I was wondering…"

A shriek pierced the air. Immediately, Audrey, Pamela, Mackie, Toby, Nick, Saria and Anya covered their ears during lunch period at Washington High School as their queen screamed with delight.
When she stopped was when the questions began to crop up.
"Did he seriously say yes?"
"Are the Jonas coming?!"
Anya bitch-slapped Audrey and Saria. "You were saying?" she asked Sapphire sweetly as Audrey and Saria rubbed their arms, annoyed.
"Well, I called him, and he thinks the Jonas' schedule is free, so they're coming!" the blonde squealed and screamed with excitement again. Everyone covered their ears until she stopped. "The party will be at my house," she added.
"How are you going to get people to come?" Beautiful Saria Patel asked. "I mean, besides from this school. You need to advertise!"
Sapphire grinned, her friend was a genius.
"I know the perfect place to get people to show up," Saria added. "Myspace,"

"Ugh, look at them. They're so caught up in that party," Cassie muttered, eating lunch with Ophelia and Gretchen "Cherry" Stardust on the other side of the cafeteria.
"Whatever. They're still inviting us, right?"
"Ophelia!" Cassie said. "Come on, even if Sapphires our friend, this is her preppie party,"
"I, actually, consider myself very popular," Ophelia explained, playing with her chicken patty. Cherry snorted. "And besides, we are still kind of friends with her…"
"Yeah, whenever she's not in public," Cherry muttered. Gretchen had moved in only a year ago, and was still new to the social status of everyone in school. She leaned over and suddenly her glasses fell into her soup.
"Ack! I can't see!"
Ophie and Cassie burst out laughing. If anything, Gretchen was a total nerd, and the obnoxious, clingy kind. Whenever Sapphire didn't hang out with Ophie and Cassie, Cherry was there as a 'replacement'.
"Stop laughing!" the brunette yelled. She fished through the bowl and pulled out a tomato-sauce covered pair of specks.
"Yeah… you might want to clean those," the wavy blonde- Ophelia- said. Cassie shook her head, red curls framing her face, as the bell rang.
"We don't have time… if we don't run to class now, we'll be late!" Cassandra said, bolting up. Their next class was on the other side of the school.
Cherry groaned.

This is the part when Sapphire contacted 3,000 people…
Sapphire Moonstone contacted 3,000 people.

"Guys! GUYS!"
Walking home from school, Ophelia Crobe and Cassie Charm turned around to see a familiar, black haired girl nearly flying toward them. Her straight bangs went down to her eyes, and the rest of her hair tumbled down her shoulders and hit a colorful tee shirt. Her backpack bounced up and down as tall, slim Dawn Schmidt ran towards them.
"Hey, Dawn!" Ophelia said cheerily as the girl caught up. "I haven't seen you since-"
"This morning," Dawn said laughing. "We ride the same morning bus,"
"You know Ophie has memory problems," Cassandra pointed out. She looked at Dawn.
"You're covered in paint!"
All over Dawns arms was wet, colorful craft paint. Which was weird, because the teen was carrying several notebooks and didn't seem to care that they were slowly being colored with impressions of her arm.
"Meh, we just had art class," she said. "I've got Sapphire in my class this year, it sucks,"
Ophie and Cassie didn't say anything, as they liked to consider themselves friends with the rich girl.
"…anyway, I heard her talking about this party, and that she'd tell everyone on Myspace…"
"I have a Myspace," Ophelia said, "I think…"
"I don't have one, the rents would kill me," Cassie added, sadly.
"We'll just go on mine, then," Dawn said. She pointed her arm into the air. "TO MY HOUSE!"
Instantly, all her notebooks fell to the pavement, flashcards and other random papers falling out and scattering themselves over the asphalt.
"Oh, crap,"

Click.
Click.
Click.
With two fingers, Dawn slowly typed on a laptop upstairs in the Schmidt household.
Click.
Click.
"You never took a typing class, huh," Cassie muttered. Ophelia was impatient, looking over Dawns shoulder and effectively- but unintentionally- creeping the girl out.
"Hold… on…"
Click.
Click.
"You realize you're getting paint all over the keyboard, right?" Cassie asked. Dawn looked at her hands, then at the computer.
"Oh, crap!"
Her keyboard was now a beautiful tie-dye color.

“Dude, you all really need to clear your schedule for once,”
In front of soon-to-be thousands of people, the Jonas Brothers- and Kevin’s girlfriend, Natasha Tullidge- wandered around the stage, randomly practicing before the big concert. Since finishing their tour, the Jonas had been performing around California, and was preparing to start up a third tour soon. They were rehearsing ‘SOS’ – still one of their most popular songs – and Natasha was on a laptop computer in the empty seats below, wandering around random websites.
The song ended and Natasha put the electrical equipment down and clapped. “Bravo, bravo!” she cheered. “Encore!”
The 20 year old girl wasn’t well known around Jonas circles yet, but that was only because she had started going out with Kevin again less then a month ago. She had black hair- although she insisted it was dark brown- brown eyes, and Asian features. She was tall, she was gorgeous; funny, creative, clever, sweet… everything Kevin had been looking for. Natasha Tullidge was like his dream girl.
“Heh, thanks,” Modest Nick said, jumping down from the stage.
“What’s with the computer?” Kevin asked Natasha, or Nat as he sometimes called her- ‘Nat’ was not only the first three letters of her name, but also her initials.
“This AngelGirl101 person’s having a party… I didn’t know you were going to a party…” she trailed off, confused, one of the girls on Sapphire Moonstones friend list. Kevin looked over her shoulder.
“I didn’t think we were going to a party…” he said. “Well, we are, but that’s Mr. Moonstone’s daughter…”
Joe looked curious, “Who’s AngelGirl101?”
Nick shrugged. Natasha jumped.
“That is Mr. Moonstone’s daughter!” she realized. “This is even her address!”
“She sent her address out to over 3,000 people?! Is she crazy?” Kevin asked, wondering how she could possibly have any common sense. Any of her ‘friends’ could be…
“That girl’s in some serious trouble,” Joe muttered.
“And it also says her parents will be out of town then…” Kevin said, still reading the bulletin. “Guys, we should go,”
“Are you CRAZY?! There could be hundreds of people!” Nick and Joe protested. Performing in front of hundreds was one thing. Partying with hundreds while the folks were out of town was something different entirely.
“We have to, guys,” Kevin said. “This Sapphire girl is getting herself in over her head… we should help, at least,”
Natasha nodded. “Okay. But I’m so going to regret this,”
Everyone else agreed.
